CMOS to Nanoloop Sync

(img from http://gieskes.nl/)

Thanks to Circuit Ben and the info on Gijs's site

I wanted to have my gameboy playing Nanoloop to be in sync with my ROBOT. Due to the fact that the internet is AWESOME and thanks to Circuit Ben and the info on Gijs's site, I did it!

The cable is simply the 9v pk-pk square wave from my clock gen fed into the gb link ports.
The only pins connected are ground and Nano sync in as shown below; I used a 2K resistor on the sync input for protection. it seems to make it more stable

Here's a video showing it working!

*EDIT* ok it seems NL gets a little upset with a 9v pulse. I regulated the clock power supply to 5v and removed the 2k resistor and all seems happy now

2 classics

Here's 2 blasts from the past

Robots

AHOY! Here's some robot stuff. I made  costumes with ALVY, for the Lewes Fireworks parade. Was well cool. I had my ANTICLOCK box (schematic below) switching 4 channels of LED strips in packing foam. I also clocked my Korg Monotribe from the AC, which ran into a kaos pad mini, and into my minirig. It was fun and I hope to make a video of it soon. The chest plate is a paint tray secured with a bunjy.
I played a gig with the outfit at the Holditdown xmas party. This time I used Nanoloop 1.3 running on a gameboy classic with a boss DD20 for FX. I tried the most outrageous sync chain for the GB, but this was patchy, so the outfit and music were independently synced.
The gig was funny for many reasons. My favourite was the abuse we were getting from the meatheads when we were dj'ing turning into love and raving when the beats and flashing lights started.
A surprising bonus was hallucinating a lot when the mask slipped over my eyes (often).

I really like the LED strip/foam combo, cheers to Uwe + Jordis, and Alvy for the inspiration.

and pigs might fly

I'm putting in an application to exhibit some interactive art with Shangrila, who have an awesome new arts and madness space in Londons docklands. They also make glastonbury festival good. My ultimate goal is to do something big and crazy, like a big version of Dr Fuckys love shack, as seen here;

My ideas for London Pleasure Gardens is an army of flying pigs. Based around the rave egg/pig concept that I've been rocking in Haha-fresh workshops, but solar powered, and autonomous. Kinda also like my Insect in a jar. And definately inspired by Ralf Schreibers Solarsoundmodul, and kulturgueter-schuppen sonnensanger seen below. + Thanks to kulturgueter-schuppen for the donated components.

*EDIT*
Same idea submitted to Brighton digital festival
